Bristol Motor Speedway

I am down in Bristol this weekend to watch the Bristol Night Race, if I have any down time I will try and find a cache.

Edit: seems the gps here in TN is acting up, I can only get about a thousdand meter accuracy, this is going to be tough.

Bike Stalker

On Thursday I was six hours into my homework when I had an urge for ice cream and a cache. I called my buddy Mitch, who has gone caching with me before, and asked him if he was up for it. We decided to get Monster sized milkshakes and then moved out to New Palestine Cemetery. When we were on the way we cut through the highschool parking lot. While we were there we got stuck behinde a biker, finnaly breaking free and entering the cemetery, we went pretty much straight to the cache. On our way out we passed the biker whom seemed scared to see us.
Sorry for no picture of the container my phone died on the way, this was taken on Mitch's phone.

What was there?
There wasn't a lot because the cache was a micro but there was a pencil sharpener and some other small toys

What did you take?
Nothing

T-Minus 2 Weeks

I plan on getting my cache ready to be hid in two weeks, I have a couple of locations in mind and I am still testing my container (so far so good). I am going to Bristol next weekend and plan on doing a cache in Tennessee.

My Dry Spell Has Ended

Today my family decided to go to the park and walk on the newly paved trails. I knew that there was a decent amount of caches inside this park (I had my previous find here). Seeing as c:geo has had some problems recently with getting caches I had only one stored on my Android so I decided to find Katie's Kiddie Cache. It was a relatively easy find and was very well maintained.

What was there?
There was a couple of stuffed animals and a trackable (that I did not realizes was a trackable until I got home) and a Starcraft 2 trial key.

What did you leave?
While I took the Starcraft 2 trial key I left nothing, the trial key is not usually something a geocacher is interested in.

Quick Little Grab

This morning I had to run my brother to the doctors, other than almost over sleeping things went well. On the way home I asked if he wanted to stop and do a cache, he said "sure". So we decided to stop at WDIESTCC - Cemetery. It was a quick uneventful find other than my camera broke (again).

What was there?
There was some silly bandz.

What did you leave?
I took nothing and left nothing (I wish I found more things worth trading). Signed log and left.

This cache was hard for a different reason...

So today I decided to retry the Mt Lebanon cache that me and my girlfriend tried on a whim as our first official cache to try. We found it this time no hitch other than one, and this one was frustrating. We found the cache in about 5 minutes of looking, pretty nice location. My girlfriend saw a Daddy Long-Legs and about lit the leaves on fire running out of the woods. I always take pictures of the containers to post on this blog but I was in a hurry due to a storm brewing over-head. When we got to my girlfriends house after the cache I wanted to upload my pic to Facebook but noticed that the file was corrupt. We then decided to go back and take another picture, so we hopped in the car and drove (about a 2 minute drive) and walk back to the cache and get it out of the woods and take a picture again. This time I got back in the car and looked again, and again it was corrupt. I restarted my phone and snap a picture of my girlfriend making a funny face and made sure it saved. Then I walked all the way back the cache and took five pictures just to be safe and two on my girlfriend's iPod.

What was there?
There was 12¢, a fake spider (bright pink), and a climber's clip

What did you leave?
I took nothing and left nothing, signed the cache and left.

PLANNING: Buying Membership and a GPSr and more thoughts on my hide.

It's all about membership!
I plan on buying a Premium Membership by the 30th of July. Even though I only have four finds I love the sport so far and I cannot wait to go caching, I was planning my day for tomorrow and lost track of time and now it is 2AM.

GPSr
Also I have decided to buy a GPSr, not going to name which one because I don't want 100 comments about how this one is better than that. Thanks to Asgoroth for helping me decide.

My Cache
I have been thinking a lot about the cache I want to hide. I want it to be good, really good. I know that the size and other criteria of the hide cache but a great hide is 99% of it. I am sticking with an Ammo box, thinking about adding a 3 month subscription to Geocaching.com and the FTF.

If you have any thought post them in the comments bellow, thank you.

Hardest Cache So Far

I'm not exactly an expert hiker/climber but I climbed Camelback Mountain as a seven year old and I climbed most of the mountains around Phoenix until we moved in 2001, let me just that the cache I did today tore me up. I decided to do a "quick" run to do April Fool's Cache. Like I said I was tore up on the way to the cache, most of it was my fault, I decided to go off the trail which was a big mistake. I have scratches all over my legs, various plant life all over my clothes. Thankfully I am immune to Poison Ivy/Oak or else I would be propped up right now.  When I got to the cache it was a little muddy and the contents were wet and I could not sign the cache :(. I then started to head back using the trail which got me to my car in around 8 minutes. On the way to my car I saw a snake (I almost stepped on it, scarred me to death!) and a squirrel that was laying on it's tummy, it watched me all the way to the car.  It was fun finding the cache even though I had to get home in 15 minutes (I made it in 17).

What was there?
I didn't have much time to look but there was a coin, a rag of some kind and some other small items. The log was too wet to sign :(. I was a in a rush to get home sorry for not being sure.

What did you leave?
I took nothing and left nothing.

My Father and I Go Geocaching

I asked my father to go with me on this find. I wanted to show him what I was doing. I explained what geocaching was and how it's not about what's in the cache but the trip there. He seemed interested but he was tired. I decided to go to the WDIESTCC - At the Tee cache

What was there?
There was 2x quarters, a bracelet, and a seashell.

What did you leave?
I took nothing and left nothing, just signed the log.

Me and Mitch Found A Cache!

So I didn't want to go on this hunt alone today and since convincing my brothers to go is out of the picture, I asked my best friend Mitch to go. Me and Mitch have been friends since we both took band together in sixth grade. We decided to go to Sugar Creek Park Cache.

We grabbed a bite to eat at McDonald's and then headed to the park, I had found the other cache in that park yesterday. This one was a little farther out and hidden pretty well. Mitch found the cache.

What was there?
There was a pez dispenser and some beads with wheels, I did not take any of these items.

What did you leave?
I did not take or leave anything

PLANNING: My First Hide

I am thinking about adding a cache somewhere around the town I live in. Some place good and uncrowded (the park near my home has 130 caches in it). Maybe I should just drive around and find a good place. I need to think of things to put and what I am going to put it in. Trip to the local CVS should help.

My First Find

I have my first find today so I decided to start a blog about my finds. I am geo caching with a Droid using the Open Source version of c:geo, I like this app a lot.

My First Find
I had tried to find the Mt. Lebanon cache with my girlfriend but she got irritated skin from the foliage so we backed out. I plan to try again. I live near a park that has the Dragon Cache in it, this was my first find. The park is still under construction. It has a nice picnic area and a play gym. I had parked and saw that I was 0.17 miles away and my compass pointed to the woods. I walked across the field (more dirt than grass) to the point on my gps and saw the entrance and went and discovered the cache.

What was there?
I found a "Indy Couples" Coin (note: not a geo coin) and a Indy Beaches wrist band

What did you leave?
I left a Caribbean Coin and a pen to log with.
